Details of the project
A leading institution in equitable education

Darca Schools is a pioneering network dedicated to providing high-quality education to students in Israel’s periphery, fostering social mobility and equal opportunities. Operating 45 schools across the country, Darca offers vulnerable students access to top-tier education and a brighter future.

Educators and school staff play a critical role in shaping these communities but often face significant stress and emotional challenges, particularly in times of conflict.

A partnership for strengthening communities

The events of October 7, 2023, and ongoing instability have deeply impacted educators and students alike. Many teachers and school leaders have faced war-related challenges and personal losses, making emotional resilience more essential than ever.

To support these educators and the students they serve, Darca Schools and EmotionAid® are collaborating to implement a science-backed training program focused on self-care and community resilience.

Empowering Educators and Students

The initiative is being implemented in several phases:

  • Phase 1 (January-February 2025): The program launched with an introductory session and a workshop to define the training framework.
  • Full Training (May-June 2025): A 30-hour intensive program for 30 members of staff, including teachers and counselors.
  • Phase 2 (October-November 2025): A second training cohort of 75 educators.
