In our experience, it is very useful to keep in touch with the groups you’re teaching EmotionAid® to, throughout the training. What we found most useful was to send email/WhatsApp message to all participants with the homework due on the next session. We have organized the suggested homework according to teaching topics, below:
In the video section, you will find three videos to illustrate the definition of stress and trauma. The last one we added (thanks to Sarah Beth from the facilitator team) dated 2020 is excellent. It describes the freeze and the discharge and the survival aspect of the freeze really well.
There is also a video of the brain model.
Exercises 1 and 2 from the exercise booklet.
The nature video of the BBC is short, pleasant and neutral (it is difficult to find anything other than pure resources there).
Exercises 4 and 5 from the exercise booklet.
Exercise 3 from exercise booklet
Any relevant exercise connected to grounding and use of steps 1, 2 and 3 of 5 steps.
You can use the polar bear video or the new nature video.
Exercises 6, 7,8, 9 and 10 of exercise booklet.
Practice 5 steps until next session.
Practice basic process.
Practice the audio exercise “brushing your nervous system”
Practice awareness of boundaries until next session using an exercise relevant to the context (work, relationships, children, self).
